Optimizing the patient experience: A TEAM approach

March 7, 2017
During the Academy of Osseointegration’s Annual Meeting, this TEAM Program session titled “Optimizing Patients’ Experiences with Ideal Team Coordination” employs a panel of speakers from surgical, restorative, and laboratory private practices that will share tips, tricks, and techniques to help your practice move the patient experience from “Good to Great.” Dr. Robert Vogel explains how the dental team was assembled and exactly what gems you will be able to take home to use in your office.
Robert C. Vogel, DDS, graduated from Columbia University Dental School in New York City before completing a combined residency program at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Miami Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida. He maintains a full-time private practice in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in implant prosthetics and reconstructive dentistry, working closely as a team member with several specialists providing implant-based comprehensive treatment as well as conducting clinical trials and providing clinical advice to the dental attachment and implant field. Dr. Vogel has developed and collaborated on the development of several prosthetic components and techniques currently in use in implant dentistry today. He lectures internationally on implant dentistry and has published numerous scientific articles. He is a fellow of the International Team for Implantology.

Moving patients from an initial exam to the completion of treatment can present challenges for all members of the dental team.

From determining fees, helping patients visualize their treatment options, financial preferences, and simple steps to make them feel comfortable with the referral process, what does the optimal team coordination look like? At “Optimizing Patients’ Experiences with Ideal Team Coordination,” a TEAM Program session as part of the Academy of Osseointegration’s (AO) Annual Meeting, a panel of speakers from surgical, restorative, and laboratory private practices will share tips, tricks, and techniques to help your practice take the patient experience from “Good to Great.”

Specifically crafted for allied staff professional and dental laboratory technicians, this fast-moving presentation will include doctors, clinical and administrative staff, as well as a laboratory technician who will all share how they work together to provide the ideal patient experience, discuss stress-free interoffice communication, and simplified workflows.

“We have assembled a TEAM of experienced, successful private practice individuals from every part of the country that have been collaborating and presenting together for the past eight years on simple, easy-to-implement-tomorrow techniques that take the stress out of running a highly efficient, no-compromise practice,” said Robert Vogel, DDS, who organized the presenters for this session. “All of the speakers focus on high-quality care provided in a comfortable setting with reasonable fees through ideal TEAM interaction.”

Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to: (1) discuss how to implement guided surgery and connectivity with prosthetic planning software, (2) explain the TEAM approach and how it is implemented in this workflow, and (3) describe how to fabricate provisional restorations and custom healing abutments presurgically.

This session will be held on Saturday, March 18, at the Orange County Convention Center as part of the AO’s 2017 Annual Meeting, “Good to Great: Making Excellence a Clinical Reality.” This year’s annual meeting is being co-sponsored by the AO, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Academy of Periodontology, and American College of Prosthodontists. More than 2,500 participants are expected to be in attendance.
