American Academy of Implant Dentistry and Foundation recognize outstanding dentists

The American Academy of Implant Dentistry recognized two dentists with the highest awards given by the Academy during its recently concluded 64th Annual Conference: Jaime Lozada, DMD, FAAID, DABOI/ID and Ralph Roberts, DDS, FAAID.
The American Academy of Implant Dentistry recognized two dentists with the highest awards given by the academy during its recently concluded 64th Annual Conference.
Named the recipient of the Aaron Gershkoff/Norman Goldberg Memorial Award was Jaime Lozada, DMD, FAAID, DABOI/ID. Dr. Lozada currently serves as director for advanced education in implant dentistry for the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Loma Linda University, where is also a professor. He is also an adjunct professor at the Universidad Autonoma de Puebla in Puebla, Mexico. Dr. Lozada achieved the status of fellow of the AAID in 2000 and was elected an honored fellow by the academy in 2003. He also served as AAID's president in 2008. Dr. Lozada currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Oral Implantology and the Revista Actualidad Implantologica (Spain). He has delivered hundreds of presentations for a variety of dental organizations around the world. The 2015 recipient of the Isaiah Lew Memorial Research Award is Ralph Roberts, DDS, FAAID. This prestigious award is presented by the AAID Foundation to an individual who has contributed significantly to research in implant dentistry. Dr. Roberts is a co-inventor and developer of the Ramus Blade dental implant. He was also the inventor of the Single Tooth Replacement (STR) dental implant. He pioneered the concepts of osteocompression and osteoexpansion, which are essential principles for certain ridge augmentation techniques and closed sinus lift. Dr. Roberts achieved the status of fellow in the AAID in 1985, and was named an honored fellow in 1994. He continues to engage in full-time practice in Rio Dell, California.
