Our fun and friendly General and Pediatric Dental Practice is looking for a Dental Hygienist Monday (8am-5pm), Tuesdays (8am-5pm), Wednesdays (8am-6pm), and Thursdays (8am-5pm). We have a state of the art 5 year old paperless practice with digital radiography. We are looking for an upbeat, fun candidate with strong communication skills in order to educate our patients on periodontal health and treatment. Candidate must be comfortable with kids as well as adults. 

Ideal candidate should be able to:
- take digital xrays;
- take intraoral pictures with an intraoral camera; 
- be able to discuss and explain in detail dental treatment to the patients;
- be familiar with the use of dental softwares (Knowledge in SoftDent a plus);
- be a good team player;
- must have a valid state of FL RDH license.

Position Title:         Dental Practice Operations Manager

Position Summary:  The Operations Manager provides management experience and supervisory skills that will further advance the dental practice philosophy and achievements.  The Operations Manager is responsible for all Practice operations to facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals.

Essential Functions:
    
1.    Be the project leader and direct point of contact for new building process.
2.    Maintain constant communication with Construction Manager.
3.    Follow construction documents for new building project
4.    Maintain budgeted costs vs actual
5.    Maintain approximate timelines vs actual
6.    Develop, maintain and implement formal Practice policies and procedures; 
7.    Evaluate the staff to insure performance goals related to production, clinical quality and regulatory compliance are met;
8.    Participate in management meetings and annual planning processes to support Practice objectives and implementation of the strategic plan;
9.    Create high levels of team spirit, patient satisfaction, productivity, efficiency, and operational success
10.    Effectively leverage all internal and external resources, communications, and systems
11.    Implement the overall and established long-term and broad view plans, goals, and general philosophies as established by Executives
12.    Create strategies, targets, timelines, and budgets to achieve objectives in a timely manner
13.    Maintain executive level awareness of Practice health, performance, and growth using:

21.    Successfully supporting doctors in a timely manner and resolving any of the non-clinical aspects of: patient complaints and questions, staff concerns, and leading customer service audits.
22.    Travel and time spent at both offices as needed.
23.    Oversees daily activities of the Practice to maximize scheduling and real-time utilization of resources.
24.    Reviews ongoing performance results to targets.  Takes corrective measures with authorization, escalates as needed.
25.    Participates in weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate.
26.    Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
27.    Keeps dentist-in-charge promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
28.    Recommends salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals.
29.    Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages and has responsibility for all employees of the front office and hygienists at all locations and is responsible for leadership, performance management, and hiring of all employees within the Practice.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: 
•    Standing 50%
•    Sitting 50%
•    Moderate noise levels from dental and other Lab equipment.
•    Dental, office, and lab setting (?).
•    Ability to move and work between two locations.
•    Minimum lifting requirements of 35 pounds in order to transfer equipment and pack and unpack supplies.
•    Frequent client and interoffice personnel interaction.
•    Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
•    Must demonstrate excellent communication skills - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
Required Education and Experience
1.    Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business management or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience.  In lieu of degree, 8-10 years of operations experience.
2.    Experience in supervising, coaching and developing staff.

4.    Excellent project management skills 
5.    Previous dental, health care management a plus.

Under general supervision, provide chair side assistance to the dentist; perform related duties; and assists with clerical work as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

GENERAL:

Perform duties according to the Dental Practice Act.
Explain NEMS’ system and clinic services to new clients. Direct clients to appropriate services as needed.
Direct escort clients to assigned operatories.
Maintain confidentiality on matters concerning clients.
Refer clients to supervisor in situations that cannot be handled.
Maintain a neat, tidy and well organized work/treatment area.
Follow NEMS safety protocol.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and President & CEO.

PATIENT TREATMENT:

Greets and prepares patients for the dentist.
Prepare operatories and equipment for patient treatment.
Assist in taking patient’s medical history.
Provides chair side assistance to the dentist using four - handed dentistry techniques.
Takes, processes, and mounts dental radiographs.
Maintains dental operatories, dental laboratory, dental equipment and sterilization area in proper working order.
Sorts dental instruments and set up trays for patient treatment.
Carries out limited dental laboratory procedures such as pouring models of impression.
Assist in topical fluoride administration.
Ensure that the patient’s record, Superbills and all relevant paperwork are completed and routed to the front desk.
Ensure that proper arrangement is made for the patient’s follow–up care.
Carry out close up procedures at the end of the day.

INFECTION CONTROL:

Clean and sterilize dental instruments using the ultrasonic machine and steam sterilizer.
Disinfect operatories and treatment area according to NEMS infection control protocol.
Follow NEMS infection control protocol.

DENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION:

Provide dental health education, including oral hygiene instruction and dietary advice, to patients and to target groups of outreach program.
Perform dental screening for NEMS members.

RECORD MAINTENANCE:

Schedule appointments for clinic providers.
Keep track of DentiCal or insurance authorization and schedule appointment accordingly.
Inform providers of any changes in the day’s schedule.
Handle dental records, filing appropriate information in dental charts, file X-rays.
Handle medical records, requesting charts from Medical Department as needed.
Prepare charts for scheduled clients.
Obtain and update necessary information from clients and enter in dental charts. For example, DentiCal, MediCal, Medicare and private insurance coverage, current address and telephone number, etc.
Enter updated information on Superbill.
Assist with front duties including appointment scheduling, chart filing, Superbill entry, typing etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of a qualified dental assistant training program.
Certificate to work as a Dental Assistant in the State of California.
Knowledge of cleaning and sterilizing procedures for dental instruments and equipment.
License in California to take dental radiographs.
Ability to assist in the teaching of preventive dentistry to patients.
Ability to deal courteously, tactfully and effectively with patients of all ages and all walks of life while working under constant pressure.
Ability to work well as team with other dental staff and other staff in NEMS.
Bilingual in Chinese or Vietnamese and English. Ability to speak fluently and enunciate clearly in both languages.
Ability to type at speed of 45 words per minute.
Knowledge of community resources desirable.
