Academy of Osseointegration cancels its annual meeting due to concerns about the coronavirus

Due to concerns about the coronavirus (COVID–19), the Academy of Osseointegration has cancelled its annual meeting that was scheduled to be held March 18–21, 2020, in Seattle, WA.

The Academy of Osseointegration (AO) has cancelled its annual meeting that was scheduled to be held March 18–21, 2020, in Seattle, Washington, due to concerns about the coronavirus (COVID–19).

Jay P. Malmquist, DMD, president of the AO, said the academy "has been monitoring the coronavirus situation with the health, safety, and well-being of our guests in mind. The AO Board of Directors arrived at this difficult decision after consulting with speakers, vendors, exhibitors, and other meeting participants, and gathering information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Washington State Department of Health, the King County Department of Public Health, and other public health authorities."

AO is in the process of refunding meeting registration fees, exhibit space rental fees, and sponsorships paid to the academy.
