DentSim Lab NYC offers dental and predental students simulation technology to practice hand skills and visualization skills with a mannequin, plastic teeth and computer-assisted feedback in real-time. Practice cavity preparation with feedback at your pace, and at your level to enhance your psychomotor skills. Professors believe that a student’s performance improves when he or she can visualize the preparation in his or her mind. Also see: The Dental professional mindset: Are you thinking critically?

COURSE: Taking a mini course at the DentSim Lab NYC can improve the quality of the rest of your dental education.

What: Class to boost prep cutting skills with 3D & 2D visualization technology; assess long-axis and hand-piece positioning with clarity; see the buccal view of the tooth you are prepping magnified; start your prep in long axis; determine previously undetected errors. Burs and teeth provided.

Practice these skills with on-screen feedback:

• Drilling to depth

• Assess long axis

• Wall angles

• Outline shape

• Outline centralization

• Retention.

When: Students can sign up for two hour sessions over winter break between December 20, 2013 - January 17, 2014.
